The British International Section is first and foremost a place for international encounters and cooperation. Its main objective is to enable French and foreign pupils to acquire together an education involving the progressive use of a foreign living language in certain subjects. It has been designed to welcome foreign pupils, to facilitate both their integration into the French school system and their possible return to their original school system, and to create, through their presence, a framework that is conducive, for French pupils, to learning a modern foreign language at a high level.
The British International section is open to pupils whose ability, particularly linguistic ability, to follow this type of education has been verified and deemed sufficient by the host school.
The final year of the course is tested by the French Baccalaureate with the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB).

The French Baccalaureate with the OIB greatly facilitates access to foreign universities. It is increasingly appreciated in France (including in Preparatory classes) because it attests to an excellent level of language, a dual culture and genuine versatility.
The emphasis is on a deepening of cultural, literary and civilizational understanding.
Cinema, theatre and communication are an integral part of specific additional teaching.
Support in English for French-speakers and in French for English-speakers is provided in order to reach the required level.
An exchange with an English-speaking country helps develop an international outlook.
Anglophone language assistants help to develop oral skills.
Preparation of language proficiency diplomas.
New information and communication technologies (such as videoconferencing) allow students to work independently and to communicate with modern and adapted technical means.
